For the Crumble Base + Topping
- 1 cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups old fashioned oats
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Apple Filling
- 4 cups diced apples Honeycrisp, Gala, or Fuji
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
Make the Crumble Mixture
In a large bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla. It should look like soft, sandy crumble.
Press half the mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan.
Make the Apple Filling
In another bowl, toss apples with brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch.
Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the apples.
Bake for 40–45 minutes, until golden and bubbling at the edges.
